Annual AMDT Student Showcase
The Apparel, Merchandising, Design and Textile Student Showcase is intended to be an opportunity for all students who will graduate in 2008 to pull together their professional portfolios and receive feedback from our program alumni.
As an alumni networking event, the portfolios should exhibit direction and strengths but need not be specficially targeted to one company or position. However, if someone has selected a specific company or position, that is also allowed. Since this will be an annual event, students who will graduate in subsequent years are welcome to begin to plan ahead and compete for an upcoming showcase.
In the Portfolio workship provided by Deborah Vandermar, a list of professional skills that might be reflected in a portfolio was generated. It is provided as an appendix as in the Review Criteria that will be used to evaluate portfolios.
Process:
- Candidates for review must bring portfolios to Kruegel 51 by noon on Friday, March 28.
- Students may pick up their portfolios on Wednesday, April 2; reviews will be replaced in the portfolios.
- Candidates selected to participate in the Showcase will be asked preferences for presentation format at the event. Examples might include use of easles, placement on tables, electronic delivery, etc.
- Candidates selected are expected to participate in the showcase event, April 19, 2008 at 1-4 PM in Seattle.
